Answer:             GST Annual Return for the F.Y. 2018 -19 due date is 30th June’2020. (Notification No. 15/2020 of CGST as on 23rd March’2020)

Question 5:      When Late Fee & Penalty will be charge?

Answer:             No Late Fee or Penalty will be charged if file before 30th June’2020.

Question 6:      When Interest will be charge?

Answer:             Interest will be charged @ 9% per annum or 0.75% per month from those having aggregate Annual Turnover more than Rs. 5 Cr. after the 15 days of regular due date.

Example:           Mr. X having Aggregate Turnover Rs. 6 Cr. and submit his GSTR-3B as on 07th June’2020 for the Month of April’2020 then Mr. X will be liable to pay the Interest on Tax @ 9% per annum or 0.75% per month.

In this case Regular/Original due date of filing GSTR-3B is 20thMay’2020, but extended Due date is June. In such a case there is confusion when Due date of return filing is extended with more than 1 month but tax payment date is extended by only 15 days from the original due date. So till 04th June no Interest will be charged.

Hence Mr. X will has to pay interest for 3 days only.

Note:- We think, we should wait for the notification for clarification.
